TEST ALERT!

Wed., Sept. 30 ~ Language Chapter 4  ~ Predicates

Rocks and Minerals ~ Science Unit

We have started our first unit in science.  It is on rocks and minerals.  It has a lot of information and should be very fun!  Examine rocks found near your home and discuss their differences and similarities.  Also, look and try to identify evidence of natural changes that have shaped our planet such as wind, erosion, ice, and flowing water.  The flowing water should not be too hard to find with all the recent rain we have had!  By connecting what we are learning to the land around us, you can help make science come alive for your student!  Start that rock collection!

Hats for Hope Day Tomorrow!!!!

Donate a $1.00 and  wear a hat on Friday, Sept. 25, to show your support for the Jay's Hope Foundation!  You can bring your $1.00 tomorrow!

Reading Series

We have finished our first theme, "Something Special!"  in our Harcourt reading series.  We have read about people and characters who discover that their own ideas, interests, and abilities are special.  Discovering their special qualities helps them earn the appreciation of others and gain a better understanding of themselves.  We also learned that ordinary people can make a difference, too.  God created us all differently and with different strengths.  That diversity is what makes the world go 'round.  WE ALL are something special from God!
