A Note from Mrs. Mallett
Dear Lower School Families,
The Lower School will be celebrating Fall with our annual Pumpkin parties again this year. On Monday, October 31st, all students (and faculty of course) in grades PK-6th will be allowed to dress for school as their favorite character/book character for our 1st annual character parade! This will be an excellent time to wear your character costumes if you have one or to dress up as your favorite book character, etc. This is NOT a "dress down day". Everyone will need to be either in costume or in school uniform. We will begin our celebration with a character costume parade through the middle and upper school and around the athletic complex at 1:00 pm and immediately return to class to begin our parties. Of course....parents are invited to surround the gym...cameras in hand... for excellent photo opportunities!
I appreciate your support, look forward to seeing you at this fun event, and as always...I am here if you have any questions or concerns.
Warm Regards,
Donna S. Mallett, Ed.S.
Head of Lower School

OWL PELLETS!!!!!!
Well, how did you like the owl pellets! Some students were unsure at first, but soon realized they are cool!!! No, a pellet is not owl poop! (as some of them thought ~ gross!) A pellet contains things that the owl cannot digest. The pellet is regurgitated. It is so neat to see the bones in a pellet! Next week, we will do some art and write some interesting facts that we have learned about owls! Here are a few pictures from our day with owl pellets!

Field Trip/ GrandKids/ October 13
Our first field trip is Thursday, October 13. I have everyone's permission form and the $7.00 ticket money. We will travel by TSA trolley bus. Mr. P. will drive us. On the day of the trip, every child will need to bring a lunch and drink from home. (We will miss our normal lunch time.) We plan to picnic back here at school.
This is a school dress down day. However, because we are going on our trip, we want our third graders to be in dress code that day. Looking good and great behavior always reflects well of our school! You may still donate a $1.00 to support the Bons Repos Orphange in Haiti.
