Next Week!!!

If you haven't turned in your child's Field Day form, please do so MONDAY.   Mrs. Brewton is placing orders for Field Day shirts on Monday.  ***Field Day is May 13th!

Wordly Wise - Lesson 10 Quiz ~ Tuesday, May 3
Reading ~ "The Armadillo from Amarillo" - focus skill: Cause and Effect ~ Test Friday
Spelling ~ Words that end with er- Pretest Thursday/ Test Friday
Math ~ Fractions - Adding and Subtracting  and 11 and 12 times tables
Language ~ Comma Review and Direct Quotation Marks
Social Studies ~ Biographies ( See below)  and Currency

Biographies 

  • ·        Today each student chose a biography book from our library to read. 
  • ·        On May 10, 11, and 12 (days will be assigned), the student will tell the class at least three interesting facts they learned about their famous person. 
  • ·        The student will need a visual aide (a puppet, drawing, photograph, shadowbox, dress-up, etc.) to go along with his/her report.
  • ·         In class we will also create a “Bio-Buddy” and a brief summary of the famous person. 

Rubric:  (20 pts. each)
·        Knowledge of subject
·        Completed on time
·        Visual aide
·        Bio-Buddy
·        Summary

We hope the children will enjoy reading about a famous person and will learn about others from their classmates.  The Bio-Buddies and summaries will be on display in our hallway at a later date. Read, read, read and learn some neat facts!

Progress Reports


You should find your child's Progress Report in his/her Friday Folder.  We only have 3 ½  weeks (WOW!!!!) of school left.  Remind your child that we are still working and taking grades.  Please don't quit on me now!  If you have any questions or concerns, please schedule a conference with me.  I will be more than happy to meet with you.

~TSA Spotlights the Arts~

Thursday, April 28: 
Tattnall Spotlights the Arts ~ The gallery will open at 5:30 p.m. followed by choral and band performances and a Monet cake contest! The Book Fair will also be open in the Media Center during Spotlight. 

Dress Down Day ! $1.00 donation ~ Relay for Life


Thursday, April 21
Students, faculty, and staff will be allowed to dress down (Friday Dress) provided they donate $1 for Relay for Life. Students will turn in donations to their teacher Thursday morning.

  • Refuge is this week. Elementary  have two Chapels this week. We met today( Tuesday) and will meet tomorrow(Wednesday) to continue the discussion on the Crucifixion and the Resurrection.   I hope your family is planning to attend the special service at 6:30 on Tuesday evening in Trojan Hall Thursday
  • Spelling and Reading tests are on THURSDAY this week.
  • Thursday, April 21 Egg Hunt/Picnic at Amerson Water Works Park.    We will leave TSA around  10:40. Bring a lunch and a drink. Parents are providing sweets and extra drinks for the afternoon.  These parents are driving:  April Beasley, Stacy Chambers, Kim Farmer, Sherie Jacobs, Eddie Kelley, Kevin Lance, Kelly Lossiah, Kathy Richardson, and Daphne Whetsel. Please meet in the classroom at 10:30.  Several others said they would meet us there!
  •   Wordly Wise Lesson 9 Quiz will be Thursday. 
  • Continue to practice multiplication and division tables at home.We will be doing a few Speed Drills for review.
Friday is Good Friday holiday!

This Week...... April 11-15

Here are a few things we have or will be working on .....

Science: Habitat Vocab Quiz on Tuesday and continue with Animal Adaptations/ Chapter 6
Bible ~ Humility and Easter story ~ Students have been working hard to show others that they are important by holding doors open, cleaning up dishes at home or out, or helping a neighbor clean the yard!  I'm so proud of my students!!!  Ask your child about humility!

Permission forms for Easter Hunt/Party are due by  Friday.  If you have any questions about how to do the Easter eggs, please let me know!

Drive One 4UR School ~ April 9

Riverside Ford is sponsoring Drive One 4UR School Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Volunteers 18 years of age or older are needed to test-drive vehicles.  For every valid test-drive completed, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to the participating school, up to $6,000!  To reach this goal, 300 volunteers are needed!  Each volunteer will be entered in a drawing to win a $100 Best Buy gift card.  In addition, the TSA Tech Team will put together a film feature of the day's activities for Riverside Ford’s Video challenge and a chance to win an additional $6,000!  

All you have to do is come to TSA on the day and time above, and you get to test drive a car!!!!! It is that easy and fun!!!!! Hope to see you all there.

Mission Trip Help/ Yearbook orders

In conjunction with the mission trip to Orphanage Emmanuel in Guaimaca, Honduras this summer, Tattnall will be conducting a food drive for Orphanage Emmanuel,  April 5th – 15th.  Gallon cans of fruits or vegetables, large bags of plain flour, dried beans, pasta, rice and sugar are needed for Orphanage Emmanuel.  Collection bins will be located in the front office, Mrs. Cheek’s office, Mrs. Joyner’s office, and the lunchroom.

Yearbooks for the 2010-2011 school year are now on sale.  Order forms are available online at or in Mrs. Cheek's office.  Books are $60, and the deadline to order is April 15.
