Accelerated Reader Goal for November
I would like for each child to take and pass at least three AR tests during the month of November. I would also like these to be chapter books or at least third grade level or higher . There are a number of grade level chapter books in our library that are suitable for your child. Please encourage your child to read. Developing a love for reading is one of the keys to success in school and beyond! Student records as of Oct. 23 are going home in this week's Friday Folders. Please check your child's progress and continue to encourage leisure reading. The only way to be a better reader is by READing, readING, and READING some more! Thank you for your help in this area!

Our First Field Trip Went WELL!
Despite the rainy weather, our trip went perfectly! We were so impressed with our students. Not only did they know alot about rocks and minerals, everyone was so well behaved! We made some cool mold and cast fossils that we will be bringing home soon! Our nature hike was moved indoors, but they didn't seem to mind. We learned alot about tree "cookies". We were so proud of all. "Thank you" to the chaperones that braved the yucky weather with us! I will try and get some pictures up soon!

School Wide Morning Devotion!
Thursday morning Zannah and Blake read a devotion for the entire school and did a fabulous job! It is so wonderful seeing the JOY of Christ shining through our students! There will be opportunities for others later on in the year!
JOY ~ J-Jesus, O-Others, then Y-You
God's light is in His children. One way we can live with joy in our hearts is by doing what God says is right. God shines a light of grace and forgiveness when we know Jesus. When we keep our hearts and minds filled with good things, we please God. He knows our hearts. He makes His light shine in us so others will see and know that He is good. The more our minds and hearts agree with God, the brighter His light can shine.___________________________________________________
The Bible says,
"Light is shed upon the righteous and joy on the upright in heart."
Psalms 97:11
Let us pray.
Dear God,
Help me see and do what is right. I want my light to shine brightly for Jesus.
Amen
