Notes for the Week......Nov. 29 - Dec. 3, 2010

I was so glad to see everyone back from the break! I hope you and your family had an awesome Thanksgiving! The children wrote in their journals about their break, and it sounds like many had a wonderful time.  From eating tons of turkey to playing football in the yard to traveling to see family, fun was had by all!  We have jumped right back into things around here.  I am so pleased with the students' hard work on multiplication.  They are earning stickers for each set of times tables, and when EVERYONE has a sticker, we will earn an Ice Cream Sundae Party!!  Practicing 5 - 10 minutes each night is very helpful!!

Remember to send in your canned goods by this Friday if you have not already done so. We have several boxes filled in our classroom! Thank you so much for your generosity!!!!

Our December service project is Tattnall's annual Kids Yule Love benefit. The assembly is Monday, December 13, at 8:15, in the Athletic Complex. Each child is asked to bring in one or two unwrapped new toys for a child in our middle Georgia area that is less fortunate. When you are out shopping, go ahead and get this special gift and send it in. We will put them under our classroom tree until the assembly day.

Skills we are working on....
Language ~ Verbs....Form of  "Be" Verbs, Action Verbs, Helping Verbs / "How To" Writing
Math ~ Multiplication ~ Daily practice at home is necessary for our success!
Science ~ Magnets ~ Mrs. Moncrief did some activities in lab on Tuesday with magnets to introduce our new unit.
Reading and Spelling ~ Test on Friday!
Bible ~ Joy- finding a way to be happy, even when things don't go your way
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!"  Philippians 4:4
You can have joy because God keeps His promises.  Anything with God is possible!

We are making ornaments for our class tree. Please send in a small photo of your child by the end of this week. Thank you.

Always check the school's website for the calendar of events, ballgames, etc. There are lots of things to do and participate in and everyone wants to stay informed of the great things going on at our wonderful school!
