SERVICE PROJECT!!!
Third grade will be doing a mission project for The Children's Hospital at the MCCG. Beginning Monday, September 20, we will collect crayons, markers, colored pencils, and coloring books for the patients at The Children's Hospital.
We read in our Weekly Reader of a similar project a third grade girl started in her community, and we thought it would be a great idea to do this for our own community. Many stores are now having great sales on school supplies, so this is an awesome time to stock up. Our room moms are providing a large basket to hold the items.
We would love to be able to drop the items off by the hospital after our GrandKids trip downtown on October 13. The director at The Children's Hospital is very excited that our school would want to do something like this for their patients. I know the hearts of our students and parents when it comes to doing for others and I am confident this project will be an awesome success. I look forward to seeing the excitement on the children's faces when they bring in their items for the children at the hospital. Thank you in advance for your giving spirit!

Week of Sept. 13-17 and Upcoming Events!
- Thank you for returning the new permission form for our GrandKids trip. The date is now Oct. 13. Sorry for the mix up, but we were unaware of the magazine holiday until Monday. Please return this form by Wednesday, Sept. 15. If you haven't returned it, please do so.
- Tuesday, Sept. 14 is Tattnall Day at Stevi B's.
- Progress Reports will be in this week's Friday Folders.
- Oct. 19 is the first Trojan Legion meeting.
- Work on addition and subtraction facts!!! Some are working very slowly with these, and we must know them quickly for this new chapter in Math! If they must use fingers, learn to use them quickly!?! I recommend getting some flashcards or dusting off the old ones!!! Spending 10 min. each night will help greatly with our classwork!
