A Glance at Our Week...Feb. 3-7,2014

Reading - Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears- skills: summarize and compare/contrast - Test Thursday, Feb. 6Click here to view questions for our story this week.  We will go over these on Wednesday in class.    
Spelling - words with /er/ sound spelled with er, ur, or ir. -- Test on Friday
Language -Verbs -  verb tenses and  subject-verb agreement
Wordly Wise - Lesson 8
Math - Multiplication- Chapter 8 - STUDY THOSE TIMES TABLES (1-6)!!!!!!!!!!!!  These must be reviewed nightly! 
Social Studies/ Science - Continue with GA habitats  
Bible -continued with The Life of Joseph



 

Our cursive writing is looking good!!  I am so pleased with everyone's hard work!!  Thanks for all of your help and encouragement! 

Balloon orders for Valentine’s Day are due by Feb. 12th.  There was a pink form in your folder last week.

Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 ~ Field Trip: GrandKids/ Charlotte's Web - 
       Students will need a sack lunch and drink the day of the trip.  
       Students must be in uniform for trip.  No jeans.  



Thursday, March 6, 2014 ~ Anybody up for a train ride?  CHOO-CHOO ~  We will be traveling on Sam Shortline from Veterans State Park to Plains, GA and visiting the hometown of Jimmy Carter.  On our trip, we will also visit the Rural Telephone Museum,  Pres. Carter's  old schoolhouse, and the depot, which was the campaign headquarter for his run for President of the U.S.  We will have a picnic lunch on the train that day, eat peanut butter ice cream,  and just enjoy the beautiful state that we live in.  I need your form back by Wednesday, Feb. 5.  

Classroom Need:  Clorox Wipes- We have had stomach bug, fevers, coughing, and sniffles!  YUCK! 
Thank you to Mrs. Dopson for getting some much needed goodies for our treat buckets!  The students were so pleased!!!
