A Glance at Our Week - Nov. 17-21, 2014

Reading - "The Stories Julian Tells";  realistic fiction; vocabulary study and reading for fluency; focus skill is sequencing
Wordly Wise - Lesson 6 Quiz on Wednesday
Spelling ~  plural, singular possessive, and plural possessive - This list will be a challenge.  There are sentences with these words that will help with the meanings and spellings.  Please find them in your child's notebook.  I will use these sentences on Friday.  
 Language ~   Nouns-  Review of plural, singular possessive, and plural possessive
Math ~  Checking Division; Half Dollars; 5 as a Divisor; Continue to review times tables 1-5
                   Math Test on Thursday 
 Social Studies ~   America's First People and the Thanksgiving Story

Please remember to fill out your parent survey that was sent to you by the school last week.  You have until  Nov. 24th to complete these.  We need to hear from you! Your voice truly matters!  You are TSA!  

Friday is the deadline to purchase Boston Butts.  Tickets are $35 and may be purchased from any junior.  A few tickets are also available in the Upper School office. Tickets are limited, so get yours today.  Make checks payable to TSA c/o Class of 2016.  Pick up is Sunday, November 23rd from 4-6 pm in the front parking lot at  Tattnall. Thanks goes to to Don’s Propane for supplying the propane to cook the Boston Butts.

Mini Rockette Dance Camp for K4-6th grade girls begins tomorrow and goes through Thursday, December 18th.    Click on the Mini Rockette Dance Camp  link for the registration form.  

Pre-School Open House is Wednesday at 9 a.m.  If you know of a pre-school family searching for a school home, please contact Tiffany Herndon. Prospective families can pre-register for Open House at bit.ly/psopenhouse .

Voting for No Shave November will be held during break Friday morning in the lunchroom and will also be available online at No Shave November . The following faculty members will be unshaven for the month of November to see who can grow the MANLIEST beard!  Voting will be open every Friday during break in the lunchroom ($1 = one vote).  The faculty member with the most votes ($1 = one vote) will be deemed the winner! The person who makes the largest vote (donation) will have the special privilege of choosing how the winning faculty member shaves their beard!   Weekly photos will be posted of each faculty member's beard progress on Facebook!  Proceeds will benefit a very special project at TSA to be revealed at Kids Yule Love.

Thank you for the delicious Thanksgiving Feast!  Despite the storms outside, we had a peaceful and enjoyable lunch inside!  I am so grateful for our sweet children and supportive parents! As always, parents, you did a terrific job!
