A Glance at Our Week - Feb. 2 - 6, 2015

Reading - "Coyote Places the Stars"; Native American Tale; 
                    skill - compare and contrast;Test on Friday
Spelling - homophones: Test on Friday
Wordly Wise -  Lesson 9 Quiz will be on Thursday 
Language - Irregular Verbs; continue with letter writing/ addressing envelopes; Be on the look for Flat Stanley in our folder later this week.  He will need to go to the post office and be mailed.  More info to come. 
Math - Review of equations and word problems; multiplying $, addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division with 3 digit dividends, time, measure of liquid capacity and length.

Test on Wednesday; Speed Drills; Intro of Dry Measures of Capacity and Seven xTables(these will not be on test)

Friday, Feb. 6, will be a Red Out for the American Heart Association. The Y-Club will be selling American Heart Association red t-shirts during break next week for $15.  Elementary teachers may send their money to purchase a t-shirt to Mrs. Boy’s room, 205.  (There are a limited number of youth sizes available.) Students who do not purchase a  t-shirt from the Y-Club but plan to dress for the Red Out must pay $1. Proceeds will go to the American Heart Association.


Friday, Feb. 6, is also Parent-Teacher Conference Day.  Dismissal will be at 11:40.  If you would like to have a conference, please let me know. 

REMINDERS!!!
The Talent Show is Monday, March 2nd.  Auditions are being held Friday, February 6th and Thursday, February 12th
.  Sign up sheets are outside Mrs. Smothers' door - Room 104.

The Y-club is taking orders for Valentine’s Day.  All orders must be prepaid and turned in to either the Lower School or Upper School office by Wednesday, February 11th.  Make checks payable to TSA.  Please DO NOT put two orders on the same order form.

For the month of February, Elementary Student Council will be collecting items for Operation Christmas Child boy and girl LOVE boxes from each elementary class along with a short note(s) and a class picture, if possible.  Elementary students are asked to bring $1.00 with their item for the box to help with the cost of shipping. The final collection date will be elementary chapel on February 11th.

Lost and Found
Quite a few items from around the school have been turned in to lost and found.   Please stop by the Upper School office or Lower School Office to claim any lost items.  Items not claimed will be donated to the Clothesline Used Clothing and Book Sale.

The first annual Clothesline Used Clothing and Book Sale will be held on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22 at TSA in the PE gym. Proceeds will directly benefit TSA and Trojan Legion. Gently used items (clothing, books, home goods, tools, furniture, DVD's, CD's, electronics, kitchen good and appliances, etc.) may be dropped off in Mrs. Cheek’s office or in Mrs. Joyner’s office..  You will receive a tax letter for your donation upon drop-off. You may also email stephanie.english@tattnall.org to schedule a pick-up for any larger items you wish to donate. Unsold items will be donated to local charities
