A Glance at Our Week - Feb. 9-13, 2015

Reading - Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears- skills: summarize and compare/contrast - TEST on Friday, Feb. 13  
 Wordly Wise - Intro Lesson 10
Spelling - words with /er/ sound spelled with er, ur, or ir. -- Test on Friday
Language -Verbs -Irregular past tense and commonly misused irregular verbs
Math  -Dozen, Calendar Time, Measure of Weight - STUDY THOSE TIMES TABLES 
(1-7)!!!!!!!!!!!! These must be reviewed nightly! TEST on Thursday
Social Studies - GA Unit  
Bible - Moses

Our cursive writing is looking good!!  I am so pleased with everyone's hard work!!  Thanks for all of your help and encouragement! 

For the month of February, Elementary Student Council will be collecting items for Operation Christmas Child boy and girl LOVE boxes from each elementary class along with a short note(s) and a class picture, if possible.  Elementary students are asked to bring $1.00 with their item for the box to help with the cost of shipping. The final collection date will be elementary chapel on February 11th.

Balloon orders for Valentine’s Day are due by Feb. 11th.  
Valentine Refreshments on Friday at 2:00.

Mon., Feb. 16 - School Holiday

The first annual Clothesline Used Clothing and Book Sale will be held on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, at TSA in the PE gym. Proceeds will directly benefit TSA and Trojan Legion. Gently used items (clothing, books, home goods, tools, furniture, DVD's, CD's, electronics, kitchen good and appliances, etc.) may be dropped off in Mrs. Cheek’s office or in Mrs. Joyner’s office..  You will receive a tax letter for your donation upon drop-off. You may also email stephanie.english@tattnall.org to schedule a pick-up for any larger items you wish to donate. Unsold items will be donated to local charities.
Trojan Legion will be offering a few incentives.

Lower School Incentive:
  • The classroom with the highest participation rate will win their choice of a Doughnut Party or a Pizza Party!

Middle/Upper School Incentive:
  • 5th period teachers will offer grade incentives for their class.

*In the event we have multiple classes with 100% participation, total amount of donations will determine classroom winner.

Parents are asked to check in with Mrs. Joyner (Lower School) or Mrs. Cheek (Middle/Upper) in an effort to keep track of donations.
The winning classroom teacher (one from lower and one from middle/upper) will win a gift card prize pack including Chick-fil-A, Jimmy John's, and Stevi B's!


Woo Hoo!!!! Cadence has already sent her Flat Stanley on his adventure!! Can't wait to hear back from him!  Happy Traveling, Flat Stanley!!!!
