Next week we will read the trade book, Molly's Pilgrim. Each child will be required to make a clothespin doll similar to the ones Molly and her classmates made in the book. (I will supply the wooden clothespin.) We will read and discuss the book in class. The Spelling list will also be words from the story. In this week's Friday Folders will be a detailed outline of this project and when things are due.
Every child will also need to bring in a shoebox lid by next Friday. We will make our shadow box out of the lid. This will be done in class. The clothespin doll will be made at HOME. Parents may help. PLEASE do not go out and buy items for the doll. Use your imagination and help your child create the doll with things you have around the house. The doll will be each child's Show and Tell item for Friday, Nov. 9. This is a great book and a fun project. I look forward to seeing everyone's clothespin doll.
